Pekka Toivonen Ensemble

P/T/E  is Finland’s most unothodox jazz quartet with a changing cycle of members. Pekka Toivonen is a Finnish composer, pianist and producer refusing to stick with any yet defined sound of music. Tenor saxophonist Ilkka Ferm is a black belt karateka full of soul. Hannu Kropsu is a science head gone guitar hero. Double bassist Teemu Keränen is a ready steady jazzman from far up North. Perttu Lindberg is human drummachine from Vallila. Olli Piippo is a baritone saxophonist with husky eyes of a painter and taste full of noise. Johanna Tarkkanen is one heck of a pianist from the silence of North Karelia. Pekka Toivonen Ensemble will take the notion of jazz to the lyrical softness of Pablo Neruda combined with the raw physicality of N.W.A. Wait for the unexpected!
